4 suspects sought in assault, robbery of elderly Pasadena man
Pasadena police detectives are asking for the public's help to identify four possible suspects connected to the assault and robbery of an 87-year-old man.

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Pasadena police detectives are asking for the public's help to identify four possible suspects connected to the assault and robbery of an 87-year-old man.

Around 5 a.m. Friday, the Pasadena resident was on a morning walk when he was robbed near the Rose Bowl on West Drive, north of Salvia Canyon Road.

Pedestrians exercising in the area found the man lying on the ground and called 911. The man sustained major head trauma and remains in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. Detectives said the suspects took a pouch containing the man's personal identification.

Right after the robbery, the four suspects were recorded on video at a Pasadena gas station attempting to use the man's credit card. Authorities obtained the surveillance footage.

A description of each suspect is listed below:

  • A Hispanic man in his 20s with a medium build, dark colored hair and a beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt, light colored shorts and tennis shoes.
  • A Hispanic man in either his teens or early 20s with a thin build and short black hair. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a circular design on the front, light colored shorts and black and white tennis shoes.
  • A Hispanic male in his 20s with a stocky build. He has thick eyebrows and was seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark colored pants.
  • A Hispanic female in her teens with long brown hair. She was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with white lettering on the front.
  • The car the suspects were in is described as a 2003 or 2004 Honda Accord coupe with a black sunroof.
