CASTAIC, Calif. (KABC) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.1 shook residents near Castaic Lake on Tuesday night.

The quake hit at 10:27 p.m. PT and hit about 6 miles north of Castaic Lake Dam, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.

Earlier in the day, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck near Rolling Hills.
