3.9-magnitude earthquake strikes near San Jacinto
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.9 struck about 2 miles north-northwest of San Jacinto around 12:39 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

SAN JACINTO, Calif. (KABC) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 struck about two miles north-northwest of San Jacinto at 12:39 a.m. Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was centered five miles north of Hemet and seven miles northwest of Valle Vista.

People reported feeling a jolt in Riverside, Jurupa Valley, and even as far away as Thousand Palms.

A 3.0-magnitude aftershock was also reported in the same area at 2:19 a.m.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
