State delays paychecks to thousands of in-home healthcare providers
Thousands of in-home healthcare providers, many living paycheck to paycheck, are running at a loss while payments from the state have been delayed.

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Thousands of in-home healthcare providers, many living paycheck to paycheck, are running at a loss while payments from the state have been delayed.

The reason? About 40,000 timesheets, which are required to be mailed in, never arrived at a processing facility in Chico.

On Tuesday, slightly more than half -- about 21,000 -- timesheets were delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. But for many families, the pay is still days away and the damage has been done.
