2 arrested for robbery of undercover LAPD officer

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two men were booked on robbery charges after police say they stole a gun from an undercover officer in South Los Angeles.

According to the LAPD, a female officer was undercover near 7th and Figueroa on Friday night when the two suspects tried to rob her of her purse.

LAPD set up a perimeter. One of the suspects was caught near 67th and Figueroa at 9:35 p.m. A second suspect was caught by a K9 units about two hours later in the 400 block of 67th Street.

Police said the gun was recovered.
