85 year-old breaks world record for running marathon

Finishing a marathon is impressive, but it's amazing when you're 85 years old.

Cheers greeted Ed Whitlock as he crossed the finish line in the Toronto Marathon.

But Whitlock did more than just finish the race, he covered the 26 miles in less than four hours, smashing the existing world record for his age group by 40 minutes, despite hitting the wall 15 miles in.

"My legs were getting pretty heavy and I wasn't running freely then, I consciously eased back because I thought it was going to be bad," Whitlock said.

Whitlock is known as the master, and he certainly lived up to his name.
