KIEV, Ukraine (KABC) -- A plane that went missing in Ukraine Thursday near the Russian border has crashed, and reports from Ukraine indicate that the plane was shot down by a missile.

The passenger plane, MH17 from Amsterdam headed to Kuala Lumpur, was carrying 280 passengers and 15 crew members.
