Heavy rains, hail, lightning strike Inland Empire

SAN JACINTO, Calif. (KABC) -- A severe weather system brought heavy rains, hail and lightning to the Inland Empire on Wednesday.

Video sent by ABC7 viewer Michael Duncan showed the heavy rain flooding the Interstate 15. In Lucerne valley, rainfall quickly turned roadways into rivers.

In Victorville, a driver lost control and her vehicle overturned on a slick road. She was pulled from the wreckage by rescuers and taken to a hospital.

Flash flooding covered parts of Highway 18 with mud and rocks, forcing a temporary shutdown in both directions.

In Moreno Valley, city workers worked through hot and humid weather to clear out flood channels still jammed with mud from last week's storm.
