Teen donates blankets to ill and premature babies at Glendale Adventist Medical Center

GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- A teenager made a donation to critically ill babies at Glendale Adventist Medical Center on Tuesday.

Jonah Retin, 13, handed out blankets that he made to families with sick children in the neonatal intensive care unit.

It's something Jonah said is close to his heart because he was born premature, at just 23 weeks, and weighing less than a pound.

Now Jonah is healthy and handed the blankets out as part of his charity project for his bar mitzvah.

"It makes me feel good because we're giving back to the community," Jonah said. "An organization gave me blankets and I wanted to do the same for them, to give them comfort and warmth in the rough journey they've been having."

Jonah was born at Tarzana hospital, but said he chose Glendale Adventist because it had a need.
