Massive fire burning in warehouse in North Brunswick, N.J.

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- A raging warehouse fire in North Brunswick, N.J, Wednesday morning is having an impact on a major highway and prompting some local evacuations.

The four-alarm fire broke out just after 2:30 a.m. inside the DCH Collision Center on Livingston Avenue, a warehouse full of cars.

A North Brunswick police officer said this warehouse is as big as 50 football fields.

For hours, heavy flames and smoke could be seen coming from the building. The fire burned through the roof.

According to WABC-TV, the complex is used by Toyota for vehicle repairs and storage.

No injuries were immediately reported.

Smoke could be seen for miles.

Residents of the nearby Birchwood Apartments condo complex were evacuated as a precaution.

Nearby Route 1 remained open, although local streets were clogged with fire department activity.

New Jersey Transit Northeast Corridor tracks run behind the warehouse, and authorities were monitoring for possible disruption to train service.
