HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- "Jackass" stuntman Steve-O was arrested Sunday after climbing to the top of a crane in Hollywood.

Los Angeles fire officials reported a man climbed to the top of a crane at about 8 p.m. at a high-rise building construction site in the 6000 West Selma Avenue. Firefighters and Los Angeles police responded to the scene and prepared an air rescue cushion.

Authorities negotiated with the man, later identified as Steve-O, to climb down.

On Saturday, Steve-O posted on Instagram a photo of him holding an inflatable killer whale to announce a "dangerous stunt."

Witnesses said Steve-O appeared to be protesting SeaWorld, inflating the killer whale at the top of the crane. Last year, he was cited for defacing a San Diego freeway in protest against the theme park.

Steve-O documented his stunt on social media, even livestreaming on Facebook.

At one point, he set off fireworks.

More than an hour later, he voluntarily climbed down from the crane and was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, setting off a firework without a permit, filming without a permit and conspiracy to commit a crime.

One video on his Facebook was captioned, "Anyone wanna bail me out of jail?"
